HOW TO CROSS STITCH FOR BEGINNERS
STEP 1
Prepare cross stitch fabric, wool yarn, needle, and scissors. There are five wool yarns that we use, namely dark green, light green , and 3 shades of pink. Following is the description of the code :
- Code 1 : light green
- Code 2 : dark green
- Code 3 : medium pink
- Code 4 : light pink
- Code 5 : dark pink
The yarn color you choose doesn’t have to match the pattern exactly. You can be creative according to your wishes or according to the color of the yarn you have.
STEP 2
After you download this simple pink flower cross stitch pattern then look for midpoint of the pattern. For the complete method, please read the article STEP BY STEP HOW TO CROSS STITCH FOR BEGINNERS here.
STEP 3
Sew the edge of cross stitch fabric so it doesn’t come apart. There are two ways that we do so that the edges of cross stitch fabric don’t come off when embroidered, read the article here.
STEP 4
Determine the center of the cross stitch fabric by folding the cross stitch fabric into four parts. We marked the midpoint of the cross stitch fabric in the photo below with needle.
STEP 5
Set up dark green yarn. Then start embroidering with code 2.
Once you have finished with the dark green color, a stalk will form like the photo below.
STEP 6
The light green color code 1 will be the next yarn you embroider.
Hooray, 4 pieces of leaves have been embroidered.
STEP 7
Then you can start embroidering the flower parts with medium pink yarn code 3.
This part is the most complicated part of the simple pink flower cross stitch pattern.
STEP 8
Whip up light pink yarn code 4 to complete the flower part.
Once the yarn with code 4 is finished, it means there is only one step left for you to complete the embroidery.
